Breathe in Community
Soul Singing is a community voice lesson that combines the traditional techniques of voice teaching with grounding and mindfulness.
The goal is to harness the natural tendency voice lessons have to become a therapeutic space.
Equal weight is given to developing the voice as an instrument, and to creating a space to explore that resonance freely and safely within a community.
Lessons are currently focused on students with little or no traditional training.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY
"I got together with a group of like-minded ladies to make music in a comfortable, and reflective environment! A unique way to relax and take space for yourself in a supportive setting."
"We centered our breathing and worked on posture awareness, then freely sang while working on accessing different parts of our voices. We used all this awareness to feel powerful and collaborative."
"I appreciated that the questions were gentle and didn't make me feel uncomfortable or on the spot. It was friendly, positive, encouraging and enjoyable. Bravo!!"
"Loved it! It a) helps you get into the right head space, and b) is GREAT practice for integrating that muscle memory for any singer."
